How will I know when the puppies are born?
If you would like to be on our update list, please fill out our "Contact Us"
form and we will add your name to our e-mail list. E-mails are sent out
about every month or so when we do not have young pups and about every
week when we do. If you have a specific litter or time-frame in mind, please
note that in the e-mail and we will contact you as soon as a litter is born that
has those characteristics.
What paperwork is necessary and how do I fill it out?
We will send a deposit contract by e-mail. The contract will tell you what you
will receive when your pup goes home as well as asking you to tell us a little
about your family situation. You can return the deposit contract by e-mail or by
snail mail.
What is the total cost of a puppy?
Please contact us for pricing.
When are payments due and what forms of payment do you take?
The $50 deposit is due when your name is placed on the waiting list for a
particular litter and the balance is due when you pick up the
pup. The deposit can be make through the Paypal link on the "New Litters"
page or by check. When the puppy is picked up the balance must be in
cash.
Can I send in a deposit now?
We accept a few "early bird" deposits before a litter is born for those families
that want to ensure early that they have a pup held for them. This of course is
refundable if no pup of their chosen gender is available at the time of birth.
Who picks out the puppy for our family?
As much as possible, you do. We will give as much guidance regarding
temperament, size and color as we can determine in such a young puppy.
We encourage you to meet and play with all available pups. Over and
over, we see that certain pups just seem to fit with certain families.
If you are not able to make it out to pick out your puppy, I am willing to pick out
a puppy for you keeping your specifications and desires in mind.
Where are you located?
Our kennel is in central Illinois, about 20 minutes north of Peoria. I am
originally from Tolland CT and started breeding there 10 years ago. 4 years
ago I moved to IL where I continue to breed goldens. My aunt and uncle are
Amber and Jay Fehr who run a breeding kennel in Ellington CT. Although
separate kennels, we have always worked together and maintained close ties
with each other. Often I will bring puppies with me to CT to visit my family
because I frequently have referrals from previous adoptive families. I
welcome inquiries from Illinois as well as southern New England.
Do you have any referrals?
Yes, available on request.
Are your pups sold with a limited or a full AKC registration?
We send our pups home with a limited AKC registration, meaning the pup will
be AKC registered but cannot be bred.
What days and hours is your kennel open?
We schedule appointments Monday-Saturday, trying to work around the
schedules of families as much as possible. We do reserve Sundays for
worship and family.

How soon can we come to see the puppies?
For the sake of the health of the pups, we do not have visitors until the pups
have received their first vaccination at 5 1/2 to 6 weeks old. After that we will
schedule appointments to visit. However, we do update the website frequently
with pictures and commentary on the progress of the litter so you can "watch
them grow" online! Click here for an example of a previous litters updates.
